Het project ‘Rebuild Kharkiv’ is kort na de bevrijding van de stad opgestart en richt zich in eerste instantie op de wederopbouw van de medische zorg als onderdeel van de vitale infrastructuur.
Kharkiv, of zoals we in het Nederlands schrijven Charkiv, is na Kyiv de grootste stad van Oekraïne met veel hoogopgeleide mensen en een grote IT community. Vanuit die IT community is CodeIT4Life ontstaan, een community die in de regio hulp verleend, voedsel en kleding uitdeelt,
Lives of Ukrainians have been endangered not only by the military actions but also by the great destruction of medical institutions and infrastructure. This puts the whole healthcare system at risk and leaves millions of people unattended and left without the proper treatment.
There are 66 medical institutions in Kharkiv that serve about 1.2 million citizens. As of April 28, 2022, 36 of them (which is 54.5%) suffered damage and destruction of building structures of various degrees. We set a goal to restore one of Kharkiv’s hospitals to ensure the survival and future life of its citizens.
Het project wordt uitgevoerd door het team van CodeIT4Life, meer informatie op hun website. Eén van de initatiefnemers is Alex Vinogradov, directeur van een softwarebedrijf die wij persoonlijk kennen sinds 2016.
